Our eco journey begins
Sustainability and reducing our carbon emissions (footprint) have become buzz words as our country grabbles with changes as recommended by the draft report of the Climate Change Commission and our obligations under the Paris Climate Change Agreement. As a business owner who wants to do the right thing we have looked at ways that our business operation can be more sustainable and be the first local Gisborne eco-friendly accountant. We were one of the first accounting firms to use Xero in 2013 and in 2021 we are aiming to be the first eco-friendly accountant in Gisborne.
Last week we took delivery of our new company car, a BEV (Battery powered Electric Vehicle) 2016 Nissan Leaf, affectionately known and named by Lucy and my kids as “Ladybug”. This has been our first step on our journey towards a more sustainable business. As a special series of posts I’ll look at the good and the bad of owing an electric car and how it stacks up for our business James Burn & Associates. So stay tuned and check back on our blog for the next post.
